Day Of The Girl 2024
OUR ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL CELEBRATION
Girls Inc. of the Pacific Northwest invites you to join us for our annual Day of the Girl celebration! In 2011, the United Nations established October 11th as International Day of the Girl to raise awareness about the unique challenges facing girls and women worldwide.
This year, we invite you to a fundraising luncheon at the Nines Hotel to recognize this important and empowering day. Join us and thousands of others across the globe as we work towards our shared vision of achieving an equitable society.

We are pleased to announce that Gabi Dixson will be joining us as our keynote speaker at our Day of the Girl luncheon. Gabi is a graduate of Concordia University. She placed her social work career on hold to focus on her athletic gifts and dreams. Having played a season of Premier League rugby in New Zealand, Gabi received an invitation to compete in New Zealand’s Strongest Woman, leaving her just six weeks to train. Gabi won that contest, returned to the United States, and began training exclusively for strongwoman and powerlifting. After only a handful of contests, Gabi competed in the 2021 World’s Strongest Woman competition and finished a highly creditable 5th overall.
Gabi went on to win many other titles, and records as a standout Strongwoman, globally renowned. She did this through a belief in diversity and the critical importance of mental health, which will be core messages at our luncheon. From Gabi, Day of the Girl guests will gain exposure to the world of strength training and career expansion for girls and diverse youth – and learn how our local community can play a role in mental health awareness. Gabi will also be joined on stage by our proud Alumni, who will interview her and share mental health resources for youth and adults in Oregon and Washington.
